That is actually half decent spec'd machines. Very unusual considering what I know of you. If you're not careful you might end up with something that is actually powerful and not a beaten up laptop being held together with duct tape. There is sometimes half decent tech discussion hangouts on /mlp/ and you might consider posting some of your efforts there.
