I was referring to him as dragon. Not as a character. I recognize he has character progress, just was unsure of how much progress he had relating to his "dragonhood" the fact that he is one. Agreed though, this is like a manifestation of Spike growing as a character.

>it feels like Owl´s That Ends Well with a slightly different context. Not because of his jealousy but because his dragon nature may cause his rejection from the mane 6 and the ones who loved him.

That's exactly it.

>Just a plot device in which explains the dragon development that we didn´t get......in Dragon Quest. Smolder is used here as the voice of reason to explain to us what happens to the dragons when they grow older and reach that puberty phase.

That was a pretty good use of the charater honestly. I hope to see more interactions between the too. It would sure be interesting if they play up Smolder's experience as a dragon and Spike's experience as a dragon among ponies, as in Spike being more well versed in equestrian traditions and customs that Smolder is unfamiliar with and Smolder being used to offer advice (both good and maybe bad) and them learning from each other. Though I'm unsure since they've been there months already and the show show them hitting the ground running rather then some culture shock between each other and equestria and them getting to know Ponyville. Though until the season is up I wont entirely say that won't happen.
