Alright!About time I am catching up on the episodes even though I am doing it while sick, I guess I have not felt like watching them until now for some reason, I have to still feel disappointed but damn, they are putting it hard to dislike or even nitpick on anything.
What Lies Beneath basically proves how Cozy Glow is the one who claims that the creatures cannot understand friendship and while the students may fail the text in theory, they have proven by experience that friendship is not something magical or extraordinary, but something that you have to prove in varied situations and circumstances to make it stronger and forge the same values as ponies did in these past seasons.
Along with On The Road to Friendship, this episode beautifully shows how the fears of each student can be overcome and passed with the help of others. That selfishness isn´t the answer in order to leave someone behind. If you are going to die or stay trapped, at least, one last hug and say that you are friends makes you feel at home even if the ambient around you feels discouraging and confusing.
The tree of harmony has become an identity with this season.It´s the voice of destiny and has decided to challenge them in order to prove them for future events that will prove how much they feel like the new mane 6 group.Not only friendship is understood with just ponies, but those values are kept for any civilized society even if it feels against their nature.
They weren´t uncivilized before this episode and even had charming moments from the start, just that Cozy Glow has that same elitism that the Chancellor does.
My sweet Celestia, 4 great episodes in a row, I wish we had this level of quality for the next season at least. There is not much to complain and I feel like I am watching natural episodes that set up for other arcs and morals. This challenge felt like a personal adventure and >>2118 I mostly share your thought on how great this is. I will reply if I can to your questions.
But no wonder these new characters hold on the same spirit as we all knew from the start. Just because one has different cover....doesn´t mean you cannot carry the torch for the future generations with different pillars, ponies or students. They all may have different chemistry but for sure, MLP has a fetish on putting 6 characters as the main protagonists. Between A Heart´s Warming Club and this ep, I find it hard to put a bad word about them.
It had lore and above all, that old charm all over again.
