Do they? I'm not quite sold on this idea. Though the only "argument" helping my case I can think of right now would be that lurkers lack part of the context that being a side of conversation brings (after all, You (as in, the participant) know what You meant, the interpretation may not 100% reflect that though it's undeniably the poster's responsibility to ensure maximal conjunction of original and interpreted meaning.
