It is a known Marxist trick.

Don't fight an enemy that is bigger than you. Infiltrate and pull the movement further until the enemy movement smashes into a wall.

Comparable with the martial arts tactic of grabbing the incomming enemy arm, and continue his movement, until he crashes into a wall.
