My research points to the pre-trib view of the Rapture being more likely to be correct, but we'll see... There are many indications that the End Times really are relatively close this time. However I tend to think that the Second Coming won't come until several decades after the Rapture, much later than generally assumed. This will account for the silence in Heaven at the Seventh Seal and allow for the rise of the Antichrist to happen with a semblance of political process, among other things.
