So, vessels are often referred to with female gendered pronouns.

She was a fine ship.

Her mast was straight and true.

When a person 'boards' (enters within) a vessel, a male gender pronoun is used.


A person will always MAN a FEMale vessel.

Not sure if useful for anything, I just never noticed it before.
