Once A Year At 11:11 AM, The Sun Shines Perfectly To Reveal This Amazing Memorial
Last updated November 11, 2019

Each Veterans Day (November 11th) at 11:11 a.m. five Armed Services pillars are pierced by the sun’s rays forming a perfect solar highlight over a mosaic of The Great Seal of the United States.

Titled the Anthem Veterans Memorial and located in Anthem, Arizona, the monument serves as a dedication to honoring the service and sacrifice of the United States Armed Forces.

The pillars allow veterans, family and friends to show their respect and reflect on those individuals who serve the United States fearlessly.

Designed by Renee Palmer-Jones of Anthem, Arizona, the five marble pillars (from 17ft to 6 ft) stand for the five branches of the United States military: The United States Army, the United States Marine Corps, the United States Navy, the United States Air Force and the United States Coast Guard.

The red brick that surrounds the monuments is known as the Circle of Honor, on the red bricks are the names of over 750 U.S. servicemen and women that symbolized support for the Armed Forces.

The stones in the circle are read, the pillars are white, and the sky is blue which represents America’s flag. The circles stand as an unbreakable border. Chief engineer and Anthem resident, Jim Martin aligned the memorial perfectly with the sun.
