Anastasiades will meet Biden later this month (Seems as though this would be the first official meeting)
Snippets Speaking on Sunday, Anastasiades said the meeting with Biden was important in every aspect, noting that it provided an opportunity to “discuss in depth our views as regards the Cyprus problem and the contribution which, among others, the US government can make” on this issue.
Anastasiades will be heading to New York in the coming days to attend and address the UN General Assembly, on the sidelines of which he will meet with a number of foreign ministers and heads of government. A meeting with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is also on the cards.
Anastasiades had asked UN Special Adviser Alexander Downer to pass on a message to Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu regarding a Varosha package proposal.
