Besides, the same gods that controlled the garden are the same gods that keep man coming here in all of his forms. Being given the ability to know wasn't a curse. Understanding "good and evil" isn't a curse.
Those things are beneficial qualities and letting [them] continue to confuse us on purpose is a mistake.
The "god" of the scriptures that cover the story of Eden is Yahweh/YHWH or El, Saturn, Jehovah, any of the other names for the "Hebrew" "god".
The same "god" that punished Lucifer for showing human knowledge in the Garden punished Jesus for showing humans that "the Kingdom of God is within (You)".
Jesus wasn't rebelling against Rome, the way of life of the disillusioned populace, Jewish practices and traditions, any particular group or enemy. Instead, he was rebelling against "the gods" or rulers of this place and their respective rulers.
There's a reason this story is told so many times throughout so many different cultures and the reason is entirely clear once you understand how they all overlap.
There's always some special person who gains some special knowledge, shows it to other people, develops a following and is ultimately punished for it.
