Moar on hate speech hearing:
Listen at :30 mins to George Selim of the ADL absolutely DUMPING on 8chan, discussing all three shooting incidents where manifestos were posted.

All the speakers (from Twitter, FB, ADL) want to make out 8chan to be the villain while stressing how concerned their orgs are about hate speech and everything they are doing to combat it. Big time virtue signaling at 8chan's expense.

Cantwell definitely says (erroneously ) that 8chan is on the Dark Web and calls it a "cesspool." around 10-12 minutes in.

At 40 mins in, Cantwell asks Selim what we can do to address hate speech on 8chan and other sites. Disgusting. Cantwell wants the social media companies to do moar. Talks again about the "Dark web"; then refers to "darker" websites [like 8chan]; doesn't seem to distinguish actual Dark Web from websites she judges to be "dark."

She wants to call on DOJ to address CP--thus implying there's a link between hate crimes (or hate speech?) and CP. (Usual media tactic of linking free speech with hate speech with hateful actions with child porn.)

FB rep asked what do you think we should do about 8chan? Anybody else?

If there's criminal activity, action should be taken by law enforcement.

[Cantwell obviously wants more than just that, wants them to say something stronger.]
