I showed two examples 100 years old
they don't record anything about autopsy
I looked at one from 1990s it had a checkbox for autopsies, so with time and place that information on the death cert varies

I read just now on npr that the were common 50 years ago

they cost money. so like I said, based on the death certs I have seen, they don't show up often
