Does not matter because that is their plan and intention. Government still knows who we all are, where we all live and what we buy with or without an internet connection. The only thing is you will no longer have security or any freedom online if you were to use the internet. They may fail at their metaverse project but they'll still get total control over the internet anyway and it will suck in similar fashion. Mission accomplished, yet another advantage of the past ruined.
