A man was arrested in Wasco, California by the Kern County Sheriff’s Office for tampering with evidence at the scene.

The man, identified as Resendo Tellez, age 27, was taken into custody near the local Amtrak station under charges that have unsettled the community.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office reported that Tellez faced misdemeanor charges “of removing human body parts from an area that is not a cemetery without law enforcement approval,” 23abc reported.
