Russia withdraws keeping only Hmeimim airbase and Tartus Naval base Friday, December 13, 2024 🇷🇺🇸🇾 Huge Russian military convoy drives from Damascus towards Latakia, where the two main bases are. Russia slowly withdrew from all bases within the country, keeping only Hmeimim airbase and Tartus Naval base. Other bases had the purpose to support Assad's army, what now is obviously obsolete. Right now talks are held to keep these two bases as a hub for Russia's Africa operation.
