Promontory Summit at the Golden Spike National Historic Site. David Kilton, National Park Service Ranger, visited Promontory Summit, the site where the golden spike was struck completing construction on the Transcontinental Railroad. Construction of the Central Pacific Railroad and Union Pacific Railroad met at Promontory Summit, about an hour outside of Ogden, Utah on May 10, 1869.
