Deputy Secretary Michael Faulkender @TreasuryDepSec - To protect our economy and national security, we’re focused on building resilient supply chains to reduce strategic dependencies and ensure the U.S. can meet its essential needs.
This trade deal is just the first step in making sure that we continue to have the process, plan, and mechanism in place to avoid future need for upward tariff pressure and deliver lasting benefits to the American people.

Deputy Secretary Michael Faulkender @TreasuryDepSec - We’ve been working on expanding the 2017 tax reforms even before the President was sworn in; preparing to act swiftly if voters gave us a Republican House, Senate, and White House.
Congress is already making substantial progress towards realizing the President’s vision of a stronger, more fair tax system, and today’s House markup represents a significant milestone.
We will continue to work closely with both the House and Senate to send one big, beautiful bill to the President’s desk this summer.
