National Center for Missing & Exploited Children @NCMEC - NCMEC is proud to join @POTUS this afternoon as he signs the TAKE IT DOWN Act into law. This critical piece of legislation will protect children victimized by the distribution of authentic and digital forgery nude and exploitative images that do not constitute CSAM. For the first time, social media platforms will be required to remove illicit content involving children from their platforms, and the distribution of this imagery will be criminalized. As the Congressionally-designated national clearinghouse on missing and exploited children issues, NCMEC advocated to close these legal gaps impacting victims of online child sexual exploitation.
