State Department Daily Briefing
Mark Toner briefed reporters and responded to questions on a range of issues, including a State Department audit faulting former Secretary Clinton on the handling of her electronic communications. Mr. Toner said his department "could have done a better job" of preserving records and emails during several administrations. He also told reporters the department was aware of hacking attempts on Hillary Clinton's e-mail server, but none of them were successful.
