History professor Omar Valerio-Jiménez discussed the 1848 Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, which ended the Mexican American War and offered Mexican Americans U.S. citizenship, and how Mexican Americans have used the treaty to push for their rights. This event was part of the 2025 San Antonio Book Festival.
