DataRepublican (small r) @DataRepublican - Larry, like me, did not set out to take on USAID. He set out to understand migrant problem and found out that USAID was financing cartels for human trafficking assistance. The cartels then became empowered due to money, and destablized their country further.
Positive feedback loop - but also, these countries were destabilized because of Marxism. But the enormous amounts of money we spend on soft power was supposed to STOP that from happening in the first place.
I think one of the most important questions we'll be answering together is - how much of the big picture is engineered? Versus self-serving?

DataRepublican (small r) @DataRepublican - Remember this essay by George Soros that laid out the new goal for NATO - that world peace should no longer defined by absence of war, but by how many countries can be forcibly transformed into Open Societies?
I'm behind in scanning documents due to travel, but I got my first batch of NED Annual Report drops today. Never been before digitalized.
And NED in 1995 was very open in talking about transforming other countries to "open societies" and working with George Soros to do so.
In fact, CIPE (NED's free market economics arm) developed a "corporate governance" model alongside Open Society Fund for postcommunist countries.
Why did we allow an outside entity such as George Soros to dictate our post-Cold War foreign policy?

DC_Draino @DC_Draino - Remember in 2015 when he was on the debate stage with 17 other candidates and he was the ONLY guy that called out the Bush family for Iraq
The only one
