How the Supreme Court Changed Over Time. The Supreme Court Historical Society hosted a lecture in the court's Washington, D.C., chamber and considered how the nation's highest court has evolved since the time of the Founders. Speakers included Jeffrey Minear, former chief of staff to Chief Justice John Roberts, and James Duff, a former counselor to Chief Justice William Rehnquist.

President John Adams Family Memorial. Congress created the Adams Memorial Foundation in 2001 to honor President John Adams, his wife Abigail, and their son John Quincy Adams - the nation's sixth president. This event was to build support for a memorial in Washington, D.C. Speakers included presidential historian Lindsay Chervinsky and Randall Woods, who has written a new biography of John Quincy Adams. Georgetown's City Tavern - which once hosted John Adams - was the site of this event.

How can this be rectified, so that historical analogies offer more thoughtful solutions for the present? Philip Zelikow - whose diplomatic career spanned administrations from Ronald Reagan to Barack Obama - is a featured speaker. The Hoover Institution at Stanford University in California hosted this event.
