New York State Conservative Party Chairman Gerard Kassar shamefully filed a lawsuit in response to my efforts to bring to the public’s attention the threats he made against me in a recorded conversation. I am preparing to vigorously counter his baseless claims and will ask for the court to impose sanctions on all involved in this frivolous legal filing.
Beyond lacking any factual or legal foundation, Chairman Kassar’s lawsuit contains several malicious lies. Chairman Kassar did, in fact, threaten me when I entered the special election to succeed Congresswoman Stefanik.
Instead of being intimidated by Kassar’s threat, I decided to expose his aggression toward me which is my protected constitutional right and something I deemed necessary to increase the safety of myself and those close to me who felt threatened by Kassar’s words.
Any harm to Chairman Kassar’s reputation is his own doing. I suspect most Conservative voters disapprove of Chairman Kassar’s threats and also disapprove of his ridiculous lawsuit against me which is an insult to our great First Amendment.
Chairman Kassar may be embarrassed by what I shared publicly, but they were his words, as confirmed by the recording. Everything I have stated concerning Chairman Kassar is true and is supported by audio recordings, documentary evidence and witness testimony.
Under Chairman Kassar’s watch, both NYS and the NY Conservative Party have declined. His own Conservative voters, in a poll conducted by Tony Fabrizio, favored me by 12 points over Kassar’s preferred candidate which I imagine infuriated the ethically challenged Chairman.
I will take all possible legal action to ensure Chairman Kassar is reprimanded by our legal system for his dishonorable behavior. If he had dignity, he would apologize and resign his office to make way for a more talented and admirable person to lead the NYS Conservative Party.
