Doug TenNapel @DougTenNapel - Superman was a blast of a great movie. The story is fun and thoughtful. Characters are clear and hilarious.
There’s great pop sci fi: black hole, pocket dimensions, talking robots and internet stuff. James Gunn might be the only person who could write and direct a good Superman, given bringing that whole task into reality is super-difficult. Superman is finally not cardboard.
Dialogue is great, action is great, comedy works, he makes changes to the original comic and movies but they all work better.
Took our family of 6 out to see it and one thumbs down.
Anyone who says Superman is bad is empirically wrong. Anyone who says it’s a matter of taste or that this is just my opinion is empirically wrong.
2 complaints: Krypto was more obnoxious than heart warming and Lois Lane flying journalists in Mr. Terriffic’s jet went too far for me. They should have let a man drive. If you think it was in good taste for her to drive you are empirically wrong.
