In an extraordinary act of global admiration, Cambodian journalist Soy Sopheap calls on his government to rename the nation’s #1 economic artery—Route 4—after President Donald J. Trump.
Why?
Because President Trump brokered peace between Cambodia and Thailand, ending decades of border tensions. And while Cambodia honored the ceasefire, Thailand broke it, kidnapping 20 Cambodian soldiers. 18 are still in captivity. Trump’s name now stands for regional stability.
In this video, Sopheap makes a direct plea to name the 140-mile U.S.-built highway:
“Donald Trump Boulevard”
“He is the most important person for the Cambodian people… He has worked hard recently for the ceasefire... This is to put respect on the whole Cambodian people.”
This movement is gaining steam.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia has nominated President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.
“President Trump Boulevard” would be the first major Cambodian road named after an American president.
This isn’t just a name. It’s a warning:
“If Thailand were to threaten or bomb Donald Trump’s Boulevard… that wouldn’t sit well with the people—or President Trump.”
Cambodia is putting peace before pride.
But Thailand is playing with fire.
Michael Alfaro, an international diplomacy strategist, put it bluntly:
“By continuing to hold these soldiers, Thailand is making President Trump look like a liar—a grave insult to the very leader who made peace possible.”
