The Vigilant Fox @VigilantFox - HOLY: Pete Buttigieg blew $1 BILLION trying to make roads and bridges “less racist” — even floated ripping out ENTIRE freeways.
Sean Duffy says his predecessor “saw racism around every single corner.”
Miranda Devine asked the new Transportation Secretary about Buttigieg’s policies.
Devine: “You know, the other crazy thing I think that you inherited was all this DEI nonsense. Pete Buttigieg, the former Transportation Secretary, spent $1 billion on trying to stop roads and bridges from being racist.”
Duffy: “So there’s a number of things that he did. For example, the Congress sends this department money, and then we give that money out in grants. And what Pete did was he added additional requirements to the grants that we would give out.”
“So if you want a grant from the Department of Transportation, you had to have a very aggressive DEI policy. Or he would say you have to have a really extreme green agenda as part of your proposal to get the grants.”
“On the racist road front, you know—back in the 60s, were roads built through communities that might have been of color, that separated them? Yeah, that did happen.”
“But there were some proposals to rip out these freeways! To rip out roads because they were racist.”
