Texas Farm Bureau @TexasFarmBureau - BIG NEWS! Today, @secrollins and @USDA announced funding and plans for construction of a domestic sterile fly production facility in Edinburg, TEXAS!
This is a big step forward in protecting Texas livestock and wildlife from the threat of the New World screwworm. The sterile insect technique is the only proven method for eradicating this pest.
Texas Farm Bureau worked directly with USDA and Congressional leaders to make this happen. TFB President Russell Boening and District 6 State Director Warren Cude were in Austin today for the announcement.
