Cory Booker @CoryBooker - This morning's shooting in Minnesota was an unspeakable tragedy. These young children, full of promise, were gunned down and wounded while gathered for something as sacred as a church service at school.
The horror of children being targeted like this is almost unbearable and a grief that no family and no community should have to endure. Congress must act to end the terror of gun violence in this country. Just days into the new school year and children have once again been killed in what should be one of the safest places in their lives. This is a moral failure.
We must rally around the Annunciation Church community in sorrow in the days and years ahead, but we cannot let another school year pass while we accept the routine murder of children in our communities.
