Author Andrew Sullivan talked about his recently published book, Virtually Normal: An Argument about Homosexuality. The book focused on the debate over the "normalcy" of being homosexual and how this affected the role of homosexuals in U.S. society. He also talked about his career in journalism and the discrimination he faced in his life as homosexual. C-SPAN's Brian Lamb moderated the conversation.

President Biden Remarks on Reducing Gun Violence
"I am determined to ban assault weapons in this country," said President Biden during remarks at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. The president visited the city to promote his administration's proposed Safer America Plan and to tout its central initiatives, which include funding the police, improving the criminal justice system, and reducing gun violence. He condemned what he called "MAGA Republicans" saying, "Don't tell me you support law enforcement if you won't condemn what happened on the 6th!" He also criticized rhetoric and "attacks" directed toward the FBI amid the search of former President Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence. Finally, he endorsed Democrats running for office in Pennsylvania, including U.S. Senate candidate John Fetterman, gubernatorial candidate Josh Shapiro, and incumbent Rep. Matt Cartwright, whose district includes Wilkes-Barre. Paige Cognetti (D) and George Brown (D), mayors of Scranton and Wilkes-Barre, respectively, introduced the president.
