Scaling the ridgeline to the Black Mountain crest trail and traversing north still leaves you a roughly 3/4 mile off trail excursion with nearly 80% grades to actually descend to the slide.
It’s not out of the realm that this slide may actually never be visited without the use of helicopters or climbing gear.

One of the largest single landslides occurred on the North side of the black mountains just south of Micaville.
At over a football fields length in width at its widest; the slide stripped away Quartz veins you can see from as far as 10 miles away.
