KanekoaTheGreat @KanekoaTheGreat - Some Leftists are spreading deceptively edited clips of Charlie Kirk’s comments on the Lahaina Fire to justify his murder.
In the full video, Charlie criticized Maui officials for not activating warning sirens and for refusing to divert water when the fire was still small.
Reports at the time said a government employee declined to release more water.
@jeremykauffman also found a 2022 video of that same official saying, “Native Hawaiians treated water as one of the earthly manifestations of a god.”
The Maui fire killed 102 people, and Charlie, like many others, was outraged at the government’s reported refusal to act.
But Media Matters and others edited the footage to make it seem as if Charlie was blaming Native Hawaiian religion alone.
