I am outraged by Susan Monarez’s attacks on Secretary Kennedy’s integrity and character.
She is a liar and an advocate - with the most notorious anti-Trump lawyer on retainer before she was fired. This lawyer, who was a key figure in the Trump impeachments - wrote a script for Monarez. It is excruciating to watch her stammer and stutter whenever she is asked a questions that deviates from those talking points.
Secretary Kennedy is the most honest figure in public life - he doesn’t lie. He didn’t stutter during his testimony - he answered every question directly and forthrightly.
Secretary Kennedy is fighting for the scientific process. His agenda is more science and more dissent. It is a lie and inaccurate to say he pushes down pre-conceived notions. The fact that Monarez equates demanding scientific dissent as anti-science shows exactly the type of thinking voters want Secretary Kennedy to reform.
As she makes clear in her testimony, her two concrete concerns with Sec Kennedy are:
(1) that Monarez wants the COVID vaccine pushed on every 6-month-old - a recommendation out of step with science and the opinions of 90% of parents.
(2) that Monarez refused to fire lead scientists at CDC who refused to support the Trump admin’s agenda to end gender mutilation surgery on kids or release vaccine injury data.
The scientists and doctors around Secretary Kennedy consistently say he is the best and most inspiring leader they’ve worked for. He is pushing for truth, not an agenda.
Let’s grow up. Monarez was a bad hire. She lied and misled people to get the job and should have been fired. She refused to fire employees who were openly antagonistic the agenda Americans voted for. She hired a Democratic PR team to attack the President before she was fired.
The crisis of trust at the CDC is not because of Secretary Kennedy - he was brought in the fix it. And he is winning. Democrats and Republicans should work with him to restore the scientific method, restore academic dissent, and reform public health institutions to start treating Americans like adults.
