President Dwight Eisenhower 1953 United Nations Address. On December 8, 1953, President Eisenhower spoke at the United Nations about the destructive nature of the atomic bomb and urged the peaceful use of atomic energy. This portion of the speech became known as his "Atoms for Peace" address.
