>>161687City of Portland, OR @PortlandGov - Delivering on our promises! Portlanders let the City know that it should better align its codes related to development, and we’re listening.
This week, Portland City Council unanimously approved the first package of Code Alignment Project recommendations to temporarily suspend certain codes that apply to projects to add to or alter an existing site. The suspensions will go into effect on October 24, and will last until Jan. 1, 2029 to review the impact and consider permanent adoption.
Through these recommendations, co-sponsored by Councilor Jamie Dunphy and Councilor Angelita Morillo, the City aims to speed up permitting timelines, encourage economic development, and spur housing production.
