I believe NGINX has built in flood detection, so it is hard to imagine that it is a denial of service. It could be the image server due to the above reasons that are causing the server to be tied up, because it may be in-process because it always appears most of the times, the reload button spins indefinately when the bottom ad graphic doesn't load properly. Someone tell Jim to reboot all the servers.
