A student was seriously injured — a broken back — in an attack on a school bus. This is not just a local tragedy. It’s a glaring symptom of a systemic failure.
We must put bus aides on every school bus to ensure the safety of our kids. There are too many opportunities for things to go wrong, and no child should have to fear for their safety while riding to school.
This is non-negotiable with me. I will fight at the school board, in the legislature, and in the courts if necessary to pass laws requiring:
•A bus aide on every route
•Clear safety protocols and training
•Accountability when the system fails
Let’s get this done — not tomorrow, not someday, but today.
