Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell blocks permit for a Christian gathering at Pike Place
Pike Place is a public area, at least 20 LGBTQ events have taken place here
Mayor Harrell released a statement saying “They went to, quote, provoke a reaction by promoting beliefs that are inherently opposed to our city's values in the heart of Seattle's most prominent LGBTQ+ neighborhood”
“The mayor has come out against us, against Christians, and had no single ounce of support for us”
They have filed a federal lawsuit against the City of Seattle. The city not only denied access to a traditional public space, but it accused the group of provoking violence simply by showing up with worship and truth.

* authorized two criminal prosecutions involving attacks on people of faith;
* preparing for Wednesday’s historic Lousiana v Callais argument at SCOTUS involving the Voting Rights Act (@JesusOseteDOJ and I are on the brief for the US but it will be argued by the Solicitor General’s office and I’m looking forward to attending the argument);
* addressing Second Amendment issues @TheJusticeDept is handling and assessing new issues;
* preparing for oral argument later this month in a US territory to defend a criminal prosecution involving police misconduct;
* negotiating with multiple top institutions of higher learning about terms for working with the US going forward and redressing past failures;
