RSF drones attack military sites in Khartoum for second day

October 15, 2025 (KHARTOUM) – Drones attacked Sudanese army sites in the capital Khartoum for a second straight day on Wednesday, residents said, as explosions and anti-aircraft fire rocked the city at dawn.

Witnesses said the army’s anti-aircraft defences engaged more than 10 drones for over an hour in a military area north of Omdurman, Khartoum’s twin city.

Residents in Omdurman reported hearing powerful explosions before sunrise, with smoke later seen rising from the Sarkab military area.

A military intelligence camp in the Kadro suburb, north of Khartoum Bahri, was also targeted, according to field sources.

The extent of any damage or casualties from the Wednesday attacks was not immediately clear.

There was no immediate comment from the Sudanese army, and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) did not officially claim responsibility.

The latest strikes followed attacks on Tuesday that targeted residential homes east of Khartoum and a military site in the city of Al-Dabbah in northern Sudan, killing a total of seven people.
