As a young slave, he somehow lost an obscene amount of money that was collected for the poor.
When he realized he lost it, he fled.
He escaped to a port city where soldiers arrived to arrest him, but he jumped overboard to escape capture. However, he couldn’t swim & was apprehended.
His master them sent him out to secure the money he lost, but somehow in the process of trying to collect the money, he ended up starting a massive brawl in a local synagogue.
He was sentenced to work to death in the mines but released thru the intervention of the favorite mistress of the Roman Emperor Commodus.
He was ordained Deacon and eventually Pope.
As Pope, he focused a lot of his time and energy on Mercy and making sure the dead were given proper burials.
His approached to Mercy was so radical that it threatened to fracture the church. The first anti-pope in church history rose up in opposition to him.
