https://x.com/SenJoniErnst/status/1978502490208235871Julie Kelly @julie_kelly2 - According to documents released yesterday by @JudiciaryGOP, Thomas Windom-tasked by DAG Lisa Monaco to lead the initial investigation into the president and his associates related to Jan 6-twice refused to answer questions during interviews with the committee. His responses during a June deposition were so lacking that the committee subpoenaed him to return, which he did on Sept 30.
But Windom-who was later detailed to Special Counsel Jack Smith's team to continue the J6 case against the president, which resulted in an August 2023 indictment-was no more forthcoming the second time around. On at least 70 occasions, Windom invoked his 5A rights or other reasons for not answering.
Windom not only pursued the president but also Trump allies including John Eastman, Rudy Giuliani, Jeff Clark, and Kelli Ward to name a few.
But on the advice of his lawyer, Windom refused to answer even basic questions:
