The collection of documents *"The Assassination of U.S. President J.F. Kennedy and Soviet-American Relations"* was prepared as part of an ongoing project by the Russian State Archive of Contemporary History to publish documents from the "Cold War" period. The central theme of the collection is the Soviet Union's reaction to the assassination of J.F. Kennedy and the beginning of interactions with the new U.S. President, L. Johnson. For the first time, based on strictly documentary evidence, the active assistance of Soviet authorities in the investigation of this crime is demonstrated. The book includes documents from the Archive of the President of the Russian Federation, recently transferred for storage to the Russian State Archive of Contemporary History, as well as materials obtained from the federal archives of the Russian Federation (GARF, RGASPI, RGAFD) and departmental archives (SVR RF Archive, FSB RF Archive, KGB RB Archive).
