Rural anon here can agree. I work in the city near me and nobody there could understand at the time why I chose such a long commute, but they do understand it now and one even just bought some land. Cities have never been worth saving, and any smart manufacturers will build their new factories far away from cities and their traffic and crime. Those companies should beware to make sure and not hire an HR department as that would be the death of them. With HR departments come beuracracy, and preferential DEI hiring, and then you'll get apartment buildings, crime, and all the problems that cities brought. Companies should be able to ask political affiliation before hiring.
