Josh Rainer @JoshRainerGold - This is a picture of James McClain holding Judge Harold Haley hostage. That’s a sawed-off shotgun taped to the judge’s head. The shotgun here will be important later.
James McClain, a Black Panther, was on trial for stabbing a prison guard. The assault on the courthouse was planned by Jonathan P. Jackson, in an attempt to secure the release of his brother and two other Black Panthers that had killed another prison guard.
Judge Haley was murdered by that shotgun to the face while McClain, Jackson, and another accomplice were killed by police as they attempted to get away. The shotgun was purchased by Angela Davis, who helped plan the attack.
Wikipedia describes Ms. Davis as “an American Marxist and feminist political activist, philosopher, academic, and author. She is Distinguished Professor Emerita of Feminist Studies and History of Consciousness at the University of California, Santa Cruz”
She currently lives in Oakland, CA, has been active in the Occupy movement and BDS, and has since taught or spoken at colleges like:

A month after the attack, the courthouse was bombed as an act of celebration by the Weather Underground, a far-left Marxist militant group founded by Bill Ayers, the mentor of Barack Obama.
