had a power outage last year in a city for 4 days when its cold and dusk starts at 3pm. used a generator and found out quick it's a sensitive beast. just had bought our once a year purchase of 1k worth of beef a few days before...we'd get the generator set up and everything plugged in and then someone decide to boil water in the electric pot and bamn it all went down. the amount of energy to heat things...It got down to just keeping the freezer happy.
