>>167543Summer Lane @SummerEllenLane - Disney is no longer a trusted name in entertainment. There have been too many flops, tepid sequels/flat CGI remakes, & politically-fueled films. Too many Disney+ failures. (She-Hulk, anyone?)
People don’t count down the days to Disney films anymore. There is no anticipation of knockout hits like “Cars” or “The Little Mermaid.” No timeless music like “Part of Your World” or “Beauty and the Beast.”
Their golden age has passed. To make a comeback, they would have to:
1) consistently focus on the art of storytelling and leave political messages behind
2) rehire John Lasseter (or find new talent that could tell a story like he did)
3) focus on core storytelling messages and elements that made their golden era of animation outstanding: selflessness, family, bravery, sacrifice, love, and faith
4) be consistent in delivering quality products over a long period of time to have a chance of recapturing the trust of their lost audience: families with children
