The Lectern Guy @lecternleader - I took this photo in 2010 of a girl who I was head over heels for. She was still on the fence about me and considered me a "good friend" but I knew I was wearing her down. This place was at a dive bar that hosted an open mic night. She thought we were just going to go see some local artists perform. What she didn't know is that I had written a song for her and planned on playing it for her.
When her song was over and I came off stage, this was a smile that I was met with. I can confidently say that this was the night that she fell for me. 15 years later this same smile still meets me everyday.
I'm sharing the story because a lot of people wake up years after they marry the person they once loved with great zeal, passion, and fervor and lament these absence of these moments.
I'm not the end all be all when it comes to relationship advice, but I can tell you that if you want the fire to keep burning, you have to keep feeding it, and if the fire has gone out, you have to start with some kindling.
Remember who you were and the things that brought you together. Do them once again, and you'll find that fire that once consumed you both.

The Lectern Guy @lecternleader - Well today has certainly not been boring. My youngest kid just got suspended from school for 3 days.
The reason?
Another child sexually assaulted his girlfriend so my kid did what he has been instructed to do to men who do those things.
I got called in for a conference to discuss it with two middle-aged white women and my son. They tried to tell me my child did it unprovoked even though they admitted the incident occured. They then cited video evidence of my kid hunting the other kid down for 9 minutes throughout the school before finding him and choking, sweeping, and submitting him.
