All day Astronomy @forallcurious - 3I/ATLAS started to rapidly brighten ahead of perihelion
Using solar imaging telescopes (coronagraphs SOHO C3 and GOES-19 CCOR-1), astronomers were able to observe 3I/ATLAS through to October 26th, watching its brightness leap from 10.5 to ~7.5, a 16x increase!
735 W/m^2 solar irradiance at perihelion, intense EUV and X-ray flux from solar flares, multiple BIG solar storm impacts, and enhanced solar wind altogether have really caused 3I/ATLAS to energize significantly over the past few days. WOW!
