I met with staff and parents at Action Pact’s Head Start program to hear how the Ossoff–Schumer government shutdown is taking food and childcare away from families and forcing parents to miss work.

https://x.com/buitengebieden/status/1985610183242907711Catherine Herridge @C__Herridge - After 9/11 as Fox's Chief Homeland Security Correspondent, I covered then Vice President Cheney.
But the most important conversation we had came after Cheney left the White House and it was about transplant.
The former Vice President was in the Fox Washington DC greenroom. I told him I didn't want to violate any personal boundaries, but I felt moved to share our family's story about transplant....if he was interested.
Cheney told me he was very interested and asked me to sit down. We talked about our son who had a life-saving liver transplant when he was six months old at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh @CHPtransplant
I had donated part of my liver.
I admitted that transplant seemed frightening, but after the surgery, I told Cheney our son was so much stronger. For the first time, I believed our son would be healthy again.
After Cheney's transplant in 2012, we ran into each other. I told him how remarkable it was to see him strong and well.
Out of deference to Cheney and his family, I'm not going to share more about that conversation, except one of the first things he asked was how our son was doing.
Being a donor was the easiest decision I have ever made.
