Dan Scavino @Scavino47 - It was an honor delivering remarks to President Trump’s political appointees at this mornings all-call meeting over at the Pentagon, on behalf of POTUS and the @WhiteHouse. Thank you for having me @SecWar —and THANK YOU to all of the INCREDIBLE PATRIOTS in attendance today!!!

DataRepublican (small r) @DataRepublican - To the White House:
When I was in Kentucky a few weeks ago, I got to interact with the Deaf community there. They got a lot of flak for inviting me, but I went because the only way to enact change in KY is through Republicans and wanted to set a good example.
I had the privilege to hear many of their life stories. A few were raised in Deaf households. But the vast majority, about 80%, were raised in oral families in deep denial. Every single family insisted they could “hear” and speak fine. Until the school showed them proof that they had language deprivation, did not know English, and the family had no choice except to send them to a Deaf school.
One conversation stood out. I met a Deaf Cuban immigrant who had fled Communism. We spoke in ASL for hours before he told me he didn’t know any English. That is proof ASL is a fully independent language with its own structure, not a derivative of English. And because of early language deprivation, many Deaf adults cannot simply “switch” to English later in life.
ASL is a language born in the United States. It has become the natural shared language of Deaf communities around the world. That is something our country should embrace with pride. And it needs to be recognized equally with English as our official language.
I urge you not to view ASL services as a burden. They are an essential part of ensuring access for many Americans.

It appears to have been following a court order on 11/4/25.
Rare case where I disagreed with the Trump Admin's pushback (presumably for cost reasons). That's thanks in large part to your educating us about ASL these past few months.
