Democrats finally agreed to end the government shutdown after “cracking like dogs,” according to the president. That’s not a real saying, but he could’ve meant “caving like bitches.”
In the eyes of most Democrats, that’s exactly what happened. Party leaders threw a performative tantrum to rile up their base of overeducated white women with crippling smartphone addictions.
Why It Matters: Establishment Democrats appear to have borrowed the playbook their GOP counterparts used to discredit and destroy themselves during the Obama administration. The end result was Donald Trump winning the 2016 election after seizing control of the Republican Party and more or less burning it to the ground. As we have often said in this space, the 2028 Democratic primary is going to be an absolute freak show—assuming Trump caves like a bitch and lets the election take place. But the midterm elections are just around the corner, and Democrats are primed for their own version of a Tea Party revolt. It’s going to be wild. Keep your loved ones close, and the popcorn closer.
